Public Meeting in Seattle on Groundbreaking Project to Build Wildlife Crossings on I-90 east of Snoqualmie Pass

SEATTLE, WA---On July 7th, the Washington State Department of Transportation is holding the final of three official public meetings on the groundbreaking Interstate 90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project. They are proposing a major upgrade to 15 miles of the Interstate highway that incorporates a series of underpasses and bridges for wildlife. This project will substantially improve driver safety and wildlife protection where the highway cuts through a major wildlife corridor in the heart of the Cascades. The proposal will expand the freeway to six lanes and reduce avalanche problems with bridges and tunnels.

Department of Transportation staff and Secretary of Transportation Doug MacDonald will be present to talk with citizens and take comments on the project. Visual displays and project information will be on hand.

Rally for Wildlife Bridges At 3:30pm conservation groups are hosting a tailgate party and rally outside the hearing. A press conference will start at 4:00pm

Public Meeting Details: Thursday, July 7 4 to 8 pm Naval Reserve Building South Lake Union 860 Terry Avenue North Seattle, WA 98109-4330 (206) 684-7331 Great Hall Conference Room
