The winning ad by Maitland Johnson of Lincoln Elementary School
displayed through June in Ellensburg, WA. Click to enlarge. |
Throughout the month of March elementary schools in Kittitas and King Counties participated in “Bridging Futures”. The I-90 Wildlife Bridges Coalition worked with teachers on a lesson plan about wildlife crossings, and concluded with a discussion on a project close to home Interstate 90. Following the lesson plan, the students were asked to design an ad that would educate the wider public about what they had learned. Their ads were entered into a contest, where the Grand Prize was to have their ad displayed on a 11 by 23 foot poster on the Delaway Road Exit off of Interstate 90 in Ellensburg, WA that will run from April to June.
Below are photos and the top ten ads from this competition with the winners from each participating elementary school. Posters have been created with these ads to hang in local business windows to educate the public. Do you have a business that you would like to display an ad in from April to June? If so, request your free poster today by contacting Jen Watkins at 206.675.9747 ext. 208 or info@i90wildlifebridges.org.
